Who can attend a MakerGirl session?

MakerGirl sessions are intended for girls ages seven to fourteen.

What will my child learn during a MakerGirl session?

During each session, MakerGirls learn about 3D printing, CAD design, women in STEM, and 3D printing applications. Each participant will design and print their very own object.

Where do the sessions take place?

MakerGirl sessions take place:

  • Pflugerville Library (Virtual on Zoom, powered by EOS)

  • The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (In-person, powered by the Grainger Idea Lab)

  • Illinois Wesleyan University (In-person, powered by IWU)

  • Other locations depending on partners, active ChangeMakers hosting sessions at local universities, and sponsors

Can groups attend a MakerGirl session?

Yes! We’ve worked with groups such as Girl Scouts, libraries & summer camps in the past.

Are scholarships available?

Yes! Students that qualify for free/reduced school lunch qualify for a MakerGirl scholarship. Please email us at general@makergirl.us for more information.
