MakerGirl Goes Mobile
Each summer we drive #MakerGirlGoesMobile with our 3D printers on the road to conduct sessions. We strive to bring MakerGirl to underserved and rural areas throughout the US!
Our fully equipped mobile unit of Ultimaker printers, laptops & session materials, we can host MakerGirl sessions anywhere! Sessions are held at MakerLabs, elementary schools, summer camps, libraries & many more amazing places.

Looking Back: A Favorite MakerGirlGoesMobile Memory
“No matter what she decides to pursue, I hope she will be a role model for others and tackle her future challenges with the passion that I saw she had in our session.”
In Muskegon, Michigan, we were running a “Dreams and Goals” session. We taught the girls about female role models and instructed the girls to design something that made them think of a dream or goal they had. We hoped that whenever they looked at this object, they would find inspiration in what they were striving for.”
“One of the girls asked me how old I was and what my dream or goal was. At only 18, I didn’t have a solid idea of what my dream was but told her about my major, Materials Engineering, and how I chose it because I wanted to create biomaterials to help people like my relative who was losing his sight. As I was talking, she watched me very intently. She then walked back to her computer and started working. I didn’t think much of it until she brought the computer back to me 5 minutes later with a new design that said “Materials Engineer.”
“She told me she wanted to switch her original design because she decided she wanted to be just like me when she grew up.”
“We let her stay late at the session to make sure her new design could get printed. Once it was finished, she offered it to me but I insisted she keeps it. I never knew that I could have this magnitude of impact on someone at such a young age. No matter what she decides to pursue, I hope she will be a role model for others and tackle her future challenges with the passion that I saw she had in our session.”
